Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers information submitted through The Century Magazine website, editorial enquiries, membership enquiries and public programme forms. A regional checkout may provide additional notices required for that transaction.

2. Information submitted by you

We may receive your name, contact details, professional information and the contents of an enquiry. Payment details are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout and are not stored by the magazine as card credentials.

3. Use of information

Information is used to answer enquiries, administer agreed services, deliver purchases, maintain programme records and protect the operation of the website.

4. Lawful purposes

Processing is limited to the purpose identified at collection: responding to a request, taking steps toward or performing a contract, meeting legal obligations, protecting the service, or sending editorial mail where the subscriber has requested it.

5. Service providers and transfers

Information may be handled by providers needed to deliver the requested service, including Vercel for hosting, Resend for operational email, beehiiv for requested newsletter subscriptions, PortOne and its payment channels for checkout, and delivery providers where physical fulfilment is requested. Information is not sold as a list. Cross-border processing is limited to what is required for the service and is subject to applicable safeguards.

6. Retention

Enquiries are retained only while they remain operationally or legally relevant. Transaction, consent and public-record materials may be retained for longer where needed for accounting, dispute resolution, documented permissions or the integrity of an agreed archive.

7. Publication and consent

A member, contributor or honouree profile is not made public solely because information was submitted. Public display follows the applicable editorial basis or recorded consent.

8. Cookies and similar technology

The current use of device storage and optional technology is described in the Cookies & Tracking notice. Non-essential tracking must not be loaded before the applicable choice is made.

9. Requests and complaints

Requests concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent may be sent to official@metilience.com. Identity verification may be required. A person may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the competent supervisory authority in their country.
